"When I review my production I observe, with some trepidation and relief, the absence of mellow motifs and themes such as ducks in a pond or meadows covered in wheat. Should there be any -no doubt about it- the subtle boundary that separates me from a criminal would grow thin to disappear."
Over the years RP Browne has worked on many series of paintings. As in many other architectural related habits present in his work, each painting contribute some new angle to the project at hand. The implication of the piece to the overall project varies from one series to another, depending on the artist's fixation with any given subject.
RP Browne's technique has largely evolved over twenty years, from his initial pieces to recent work; although the thinned acrylic "ciaroscuro" is consistently present throughout the work.
